ABOUT
Early childhood education and care
Our Preschool curriculum follows the Finnish National Curriculum for Pre-Primary Education, which is part of early childhood education and care. The teaching language is English, with one Finnish day (4 hours) per week offered to support the development of Finnish language skills.
At preschool the children are divided into classes of 20 children with one teacher and a teaching assistant. Our teachers are enthusiastic professionals with years of experience in developing inspiring learning environments for children. Like in early childhood education, play is the main method of teaching also in pre-primary education. Learning is based on exploring different phenomena, which means that learning is not happening in just one area or subject at a time. A phenomenon can be explored through many different aspects and subjects.
Pre-schoolers are also active visitors of different museums, theatres, exhibitions, concerts and the library. The school offers great facilities and technology for teaching. and for Physical Education the groups utilise outside park areas and Nääshalli gym.
